climbing love

in addition to yoga, a new love has entered my life: rock climbing.

yes, i like to climb rocks. big rocks!

i fell hard and fast for this bad boy. i only just started climbing — september of 2010! — and am only a newbie to the sport. but i absolutely love it. it’s a mental challenge as much as it is a physical challenge and many of the core elements align with the practice of yoga! for example: breath to movement, slow and controlled movement, core strength, mental concentration, quieting the negative chatter of the mind. rock climbing has improved my abilities on the mat and vice versa. i am so happy to have found this new love!

i usually climb a few times every week but it varies. if i could climb every day, you bet your behind i would!
